Did you know that water can make it easier for you to work with and benefit from crystals’ healing properties? It’s true – water is a great conductor and will amplify the frequencies of crystals.

Bathing with crystals is an additional way you can benefit from their healing properties. And let’s be honest, it’s one of my favourite ways to work with them.

How to Work with Crystals in a Bath

(1) What is your intention?

First, set your intention.

What are you trying to heal or work on?

Always be sure to have a clear intention when working with crystals. Whether you are working on self-forgiveness, compassion, self-love, etc. know what you are working on.

“Our intention creates our reality.” – Wayne Dyer

(2) Choose Your Crystals

Crystals are made up of different frequencies – because all matter vibrates at different rates. To assist you with your intention to heal a specific area of your life, it is essential to find a crystal that will be able to do just that. The are few crystals that can assist you in every aspect – so you must choose your crystals wisely.

For example, if you are working on self-forgiveness or compassion, you could use rose quartz – the crystal of love – in your bath to assist you with this.

In addition, you must exercise caution when choosing crystals to use in water. Certain crystals are toxic, others water soluble, and still some will rust. This can seem overwhelming, but I have your back: check out the How to Choose Water Safe Crystals blog post.

Chakra Crystal Set

If you are looking for a place to start – I suggest this set – the crystal types are water safe, except for hematite (which will rust). It comes with white quartz, amethyst, blue lace agate, rose quartz, citrine, carnelian, and hematite.

Also, if you are looking for an excellent online crystal shop, I recommend you check out Sage Goddess. It’s one of my favourites, and everything I’ve received from the shop has been of good quality.

(3) Number of crystals to put in the bath

If you are using the same crystal type – for example, rose quartz – there really is no limit to the amount you can put in your bath. Use as many as you feel guided to.

If you are using more than one crystal type – I would recommend using no more than 3 different crystals. You want to be clear and intentional while working with crystals. And if you have more than three different crystals in your bath, you may not get the results that match your intention.

Tip: Pair white quartz with any crystal you choose, because white quartz is also an amplifier and will strengthen the frequencies in the water. And white quartz is beneficial for all chakras.

(4) Working with crystals in a bath

Just by intentionally putting crystals into your bath can assist you in your healing work. The water will amplify their frequencies, and as you bathe, you will be soaking it all up.

  • Additionally, you can place them in the bath in specific places making up a crystal grid around your body.
  • You can hold a crystal in your hand as you bathe – this is especially good while meditating.
  • You can place the crystals on your body while laying in the bath.

I do all of these things as I am guided to. But what works for me, may not work for you. Trust your intuition.

(5) Layer on the energies!

The more layering of healing tools you implement, the more beneficial your healing work becomes.

Yes, you can just have a bath with crystals in it. But I’d highly recommend you incorporate a few other healing tools into your bath as well to get that energy flowing freely once again.

Pair your crystals with essential oils, bath salts, soaps, a candle, and music.

There’s nothing better than taking a bath lit in candlelight, listening to some calming music, smelling the beautiful aroma of an essential oil, while being surrounded by your crystals.

After all, the more you relax, the more you assist your body’s natural healing process.

How long do I need to bathe with the crystals for the healing process to begin?

Any amount of time with crystals is beneficial. But I recommend taking at least a 15-minute bath when bathing with crystals.

Also, know that you may need more than one bath to work towards your healing goals. It took time for the energetic and emotional blockages to occur, it may take time for you to bring those areas back into balance.

Further notes on bathing with crystals in a bath

  • Remember to thank the crystals for their assistance after your bath.
  • This may seem obvious, but just in case, remember to take the crystals out of the bath before draining the water.
  • Bath tip – as you drain the water away at the end of your bath, imagine all of the stuck energy and anything no longer serving you, going down the drain back to the centre of the earth.
